The Pali Villa is designed as a holiday home for a business family based in Mumbai. Our brief revolved around creating a tranquil abode that blends in with the natural surroundings as well as to accommodate the nearly 50 year old tree on the plot. The design derives inspiration from local vernacular architecture of Konkan in terms of space planning and material palette. The house features multiple interconnected corridors and verandas and has a strong expression of the local laterite stone, wood, Kota stone, and local roofing shingles on its sloping roof.
